How To Stop Cooking Being A Chore

admin | May 16, 2011

As our society and the technology in it develops then we are getting lazier and lazier and letting our gadgets pick up the slack in areas like our kitchens. Don’t get me wrong, I love gadgets and technology, I adore being able to run my life through my phone and has access to news on tap through the internet, but when it comes to cooking then I like to do that myself.

I know we are all getting busier with work and family, so we don’t consider cooking to be time well spent, but if you don’t think of it as a chore then you can often combine family time with cooking. If you are watching TV with your family then you tend to switch off, but when you are cooking then it is quite the opposite, this means you can get a family member to help you out and have a really great conversation with them while you prepare a meal. If you were both in front of the TV then you probably wouldn’t be talking as much, but as you are both ‘stuck’ in the kitchen then it is the perfect time to talk to each other.

While cooking for yourself may take a bit longer than sticking something in the microwave, then it will give you a healthier meal without all those preservatives and additives in, and you can make sure you get a good portion of vegetables with it too. Yet there are some pieces of technology in the kitchen that I do like, for instance bread makers and coffee makers.

Freshly baked bread is something that is sorely missing from most people’s lives, we used to cook our own bread, but now we can get a loaf so cheaply from the supermarket, then why bother? A bread maker will take all the tedious work out of making the bread but still give you the same fantastic result. There is nothing quite like a freshly baked loaf cut into slices and then drizzled in butter!

A coffee maker is a great gadget for people who need lots of coffee in the morning for a big family. If it is just for you then it is a bit of an overkill, even if you get a 1 cup machine, but if you need lots of cups then the ability to have the machine come on in the morning automatically and brew you a 10 cup pot of coffee for when you get downstairs is priceless.

So stop thinking of cooking as a chore, it should be an enjoyable experience that you can share with your family, and by cooking things yourself from scratch (which really doesn’t take that long) then you can eat healthier food as well.

Another gadget you might like to consider is an indoor electric turkey fryer which can cook your turkey super fast and keep it nice and juicy at the same time, visit IndoorElectricTurkeyFryer.com for more details.

Combine 5 ounces of flour along with 1/4 teaspoon of yeast, the bottled water and the entire honey inside a straight-sided container. Cover everything loosely then refrigerate for a period of 8 to 12 hours. Leaving the whole lot overnight is recommended. Yeast does a couple of things for bread. First, it leavens the bread and second, it provides texture and taste to the bread. To properly leaven the bread, the yeast must be reproduced immediately to create the gasses found inside. Reproduction needs to be sluggish to give the best texture and flavor.

Make the sponge or pre-ferment. Put the yeasty combination into the refrigerator and decelerate the entire fermentation procedure. The dough will take in a number of the gasses left by the yeast, resulting in softer dough later on. The bread may also have an aged flavor. The added hydration and time will kind gluten strands which are essential for bread dough.

Cover the dough within the bowl utilizing a kitchen towel and let all the things rest for 20 minutes. Knead the dough on medium pace for 5 to 10 minutes after 20 minutes or till you possibly can slowly pull the dough right into a sheet, wherein mild passes through. The dough will likely be sticky, however not a lot that you just can’t handle well.

Flatten the dough using your knuckles, then fold it into itself. Put the dough again on the counter and roll slowly between your hands. Warmth the oven to four hundred levels F. Slash the top surface of the dough balls about 1/2 inch deep. Add more scorching water if the pan tends to be dry. Italian Cheeses: The Cappello del Mago Cheese

admin | March 27, 2011

Did you know that regular cheddar cheese is more dangerous to our health than beef and butter? Yes, I am talking about the exact same cheese that we happily put on our sandwiches and salads every day. The same cheese puts us at great risk for heart attack. And no, I’m not kidding.

A study done by the Center for Science in Public Interest or CSPI revealed that, cheese is the main culprit for most American heart attacks every day. And according to the same research, most of the fat that Americans get is from the cheese in their food.

There is one type of cheese that is an exception rather than the rule – goat cheese. Although known for its tangy flavor, goat cheese is a lot healthier than the regular cheese we have on our fridge.

Enjoy the Cappello del Mago cheese fast.

One type of goat cheese is the Capello del Mago cheese. The Capello del Mago is made by the Giancula family in a small town in Italy. Every piece of the Capello del Mago is considered as a work of art. A bit crumby and creamy, this cheese is so full of flavor. With the right combination of flavor and acidity, the Capello del Mago cheese tastes perfectly in the mouth.

The Cappello del Mago cheese is sold in a wheel, per pound, and is shaped like a drum. It has a natural mold rind filled with healthy yellow mold. When you buy the Cappello del Mago, you will get a wheel neatly wrapped in straw and brown paper, put together nicely by sealing wax. The Cappello del Mago cheese is so fine a cheese, it has gained recognition in Valsesina and in the Piedmont region in 2008.

The Cappello del Mago cheese is a great substitute for regular cheese because it is low both in fat and calories. Cheese made from cow’s milk has a bout 100g of calories and 10g of fat per ounce, while the Cappello del Mago cheese has only 80g of calories and 6g of fat per ounce. This means that goat cheese such as the Cappello del Mago cheese is the healthier choice.

Aside from having less fat and calorie content, the Cappello del Mago cheese is also a good alternative for people who are lactose intolerant. This is because fat molecules in goat cheese are shorter, and are thus more digestible and light to the stomach. But even when the Cappello del Mago cheese is low in fat and calories, it is still very high in calcium and other minerals.

Cappello del Mago cheese has lower fat, lower calories, and high calcium – now isn’t that a perfect combination?
